I'm very interested in using your rardir application on Windows Vista and Server 2008, but have seen that you haven't released any updates in a while.

I did find out, as you obviously have, that Detours doesn't work with a standard implementation on Vista.

Info on a workaround is here: http://www.horseb.net/html/4738/4738.html , and also there's a GPL library that implements the same features on Google Code: http://code.google.com/p/easyhook-continuing-detours/

I really would love to be able to play video from rar files in MPC so I can use CoreAVC instead of VLC's libvacodec, for performance reasons.

What you've done so far is excellent though, just know that someone appreciates your work

so far i have tested only on vmware but detours seems to work. the problem is that vista uses different api to find/list files. so i need to add additional function hooks to rardir. i've been busy lately. but this is still in my todo list.

one more thing about detours. detours in non-commercial version only supports 32bit code so no rardir for x64 systems until i'll find library that does it.
